For those of you who are not familiar with Downdog in Manor Park, the studio has been in operation since 2017. It is local, non-profit, community oriented.

Downdog’s mission is too provide a space that is conducive to the best possible yoga experience in a charming fireside atmosphere with classes limited to 9 participants.

The venue is conducive to creating a welcoming, calming, and healing experience with:

  • All level-classes on Monday nights that feature more technically challenging asanas and breathing techniques (Pranayama).
  • Accessible, gentle classes Friday geared towards those with mobility and balance challenges who would like to build a solid foundation in functional strength and breath training for relaxation.

Overview

All Levels Hatha Flow & Relaxation

Mondays from 7:00 pm – 8:15 pm

Suitable for all levels but those new to yoga should have good flexibility and strength. Attention will be brought to the breath to slow and calm the mind. Sequences are designed to build confidence, focus, heat and stamina. The sequences offer both an excellent workout and deep relaxation. The practice will offer interesting and original variations of classic poses. Some pranayama and meditation.

 

Accessible Yoga for Functional Strength and Mobility

Fridays: 10:30am-11:45am

This class is perfect for newcomers to yoga seeking a slower pace, more relaxed approach to yoga! A major emphasis is on accessibility — you don’t have to be flexible at all, strong, or able to balance on one leg.  This class will help you build those skills from the ground up. Includes relaxation and breathing techniques to clam the mind.
