Ashtanga Yoga: Exploring Intermediate Movement Patterns

Book in Calendar

Rhythm, Strength, Flexibility, Breath, Hips, Backbends and Arm Balances all rolled into one 75 minute practice.

This is a strong blend of first and second series Ashtanga - speaking of strong blends, a little coffee goes a long way before morning practice. Second series includes backbends, inversions and arm balances, while first series is more about core, hips, and developing crow pose power.

As practice matures, alignment instruction is less necessary, and focus can tune inward to the rhythms of the breath, and meditative stillness in the eyes -- this helps us pause the stories the mind generates and practice coming back to the brilliance of the present moment, again and again.
